TRIP PLANNING INFORMATION
Voted True West Magazine's "Best Wagon Train Experience!"
The Jackson Hole Airport is located ten minutes from Jackson Hole. Jackson is serviced by Skywest, Delta, United. Northwest and American Airlines. Connections can be easily made in Salt Lake City, Denver, Dallas and Chicago. Many of our guests have also flown into Salt Lake City, Utah or Idaho Falls, Idaho and have enjoyed seeing the surrounding area driving to Jackson Hole. Most folks like to spend a few days in Jackson either before or after their Wagon Train tour with us. We also have an Outdoor Adventure Travel Package available that will make your stay in Jackson Hole even more exciting and easy to plan! Check it out Here!
If making your own arrangements, plan to arrive in Jackson Hole by Sunday evening at the latest. On Monday morning, our vans and Wagonmaster will meet you at any Jackson Hole motel at approximately 9 a.m. to transport you into the pristine country nestled between Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. We will arrive back in Jackson at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. We would be happy to make your hotel reservations for you or we would be happy to make some recommendations. We encourage guests to make reservations as soon as possible as Jackson Hole is a very popular summer destination.
Although guests are ultimately responsible for pre and post trip accomodations, we can also assist you in making these reservations. When making reservations with the Teton Wagon Train and Horse Adventure, ask us about this service. Feel free to check out our Outdoor Adventure Travel Package with motel accommodations included!
WHAT IS PROVIDED
Everything necessary for the trip is furnished except for your personal clothing. There are no hidden charges for guests of the Teton Wagon Train & Horse Adventure.
Guests can sleep in two/three-man tents with floors, zippered doors, windows and screens or can enjoy sleeping outside under the stars. Warm sleeping bags with three-inch foam mattresses, sheet liners, pillows and pillowcases are provided for each person. In the event of rain ponchos are provided, however, you may bring your own if you desire.
WHAT TO BRING
|To remember the scenic views for a lifetime, don't forget your binoculars
and camera (with plenty of film). Video cameras with battery packs that
aren't too bulky will also give
you lasting memories. Bring a swimsuit to swim in the lakes. A canteen
would be handy on a horseback ride or enroute from one camp to another.
Plan to travel light, using a duffel bag. No large suitcases, please. Footwear (rugged gym shoes, hiking boots, etc.) should be sturdy and cowboy boots are good if "broken in". Two pair of footwear is a good idea in case one pair should get wet. Three pairs of jeans or long pants, several pairs of socks and undergarments, one warm shirt or sweat shirt, and long sleeved shirts to protect your arms from the sun are advised. Also bring t-shirts and a pair of shorts if you desire. A warm jacket is also suggested as temperatures can vary greatly in mountain areas. It is always good to be prepared. Bring sunblock and a hat (cowboy hats are fine), but any hat that keeps the sun off is good.
A flashlight comes in very handy, although lanterns light our main
areas at night. Toiletries should include anything you feel you need. Because
we are travelling in pristine country, electricity is not available. Bring
a wash cloth, towel, toothbrush, shaving gear and medicine.
